Wing mirrors
Just about to order a pair of Optimill mirror arms for my Puma. I also could do with a pair of mirrors as the Britpart versions are a bit rubbishy as they are difficult to tighten securely with the threads stripping on the screws plus the plates are also rubbish . Any pointers to decent mirrors? The Optimill mirrors are dear, but are they any better? Wherever you go, you end up with rebranded Britpart mirrors.

I just fitted britpart ones on saturday. Went for the brunell silver ones and overall quite happy with them. Even went for the britpart arms! shockingly i am really pleased and they don't vibrate at idle! 1953 80"

Although they won’t look standard, the Unitruck offering has a more robust fixing method.

A lot of the MoD TUM fleet is fitted with the Unitruck mirrors since they seem to be more squaddie-proof than most other types. If you don't mind a slightly non-standard look they are an excellent choice.

The mirrors that came with my Optimil Mirror Arms were from Britpart. I had to completely replace one after I accidentally over tightened the screw.

How do they fit to the vehicle? The website is somewhat vague in this respect. Thanks.

I haven’t got a pair, however I have seen them fitted.

These are the heads only, and fit to the std Defender mirror arm.

The clamp is accessed via the cover on the rear and is more substantial than the std mirror arrangement. The mirror itself is far more robust than the std offering.

It’s difficult to explain without the aid of diagrams, so I Hope this helps a little.
