I love how technology is taking us back to the Stone Age…..

Clever people trying to be clever because they are the only people that thinks that they are clever…..Can’t they just give the owners a free left over wet belt to beat out the flames….

I always have a little internal chuckle when I see a middle age woman driving a Kuga.
Are they sure it’s the batteries, not hot flushes causing the fire issue Very Happy

From someone who owns a Fiesta with a wet cam belt I hope they win their case.

As markb110 says, cars seem to be going backwards.

Hope Ford do not see this, they could use it as part of their defence Smile 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Back in the news.
An excerpt "In the meantime, however, owners have been told to drive the car in 'Auto EV' mode only and not to charge them up from the mains."
Then there is this
“We are also extending the warranty for high-voltage components to ten years/240,000km (whichever comes first), covering the high-voltage battery, for all affected Kuga PHEVs in Europe."
Wonder how Land Rover would handle this?

Either "we are not aware of any problem" or "they all do that, sir", I expect. Those seem to be the stock responses.

Funny how Ford say "it is a software fix". Everything seems to be computer driven these days. With all the planning that went into these cars, this problem never surfaced. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

In a similar vein to JLR’s front axle snapping statements. I expect JLR would say

“A major extremely high temperature fire could take place, this could cause a slight discomfort to occupants of the vehicle or those in close proximity to it.”

“ To take advantage of this facility we have provided you with some wooden sticks and marshmallows to toast”

Let’s hope the control systems at the two new UK nuclear power stations are a bit more robust
