A stock transfer case has brass components. Use only GL4 oils. If you fit an Ashcroft ATB centre diff, then you can use GL5.
If you are in an area of Canada that gets cold, I really recommend fully synthetic oils for the diffs and T/C. It makes a huge difference in friction losses. |

Power steering fluid? Just use automatic transmission fluid rated Dexron 2 or 3.
Coolant? Shell Rotella ELC - not easy to find. Only seems to be available from distributors and specialist transport tuck suppliers. Comes pre-mixed. Recochem HD Diesel ELC Concentrate - available at Canadian Tire and specialty truck suppliers. |

Did some research and calling around. Motul Gear300 despite its Gl4/5 rating - can be used as it doesn't
have the usual mix of yellow-metal eating chemicals used to achieve that rating! ![]() Click image to enlarge 2007 2.4 Puma 110 XS |

Regarding coolant, Land-rover use Delo XLC as their coolant. They rebadge it and sell it as their own.
Delo XLC is manufactured by Chevron / Texaco, so should be easy available in Canada and USA. |

The Puma power steering fluid is central hydraulic fluid, not ATF. I don't know what difference that makes in practise, but they are different products. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

It is common to use Dexron 3 in hydraulics.
The actual spec is Texaco Cold Climate 33270. There are various crossovers but you can use Dexron 3. Not just any ATF as some have friction modifiers, etc. YMMV |

Maybe you are overthinking this? These fluids are not all that unique and the machinery is not all that sensitive. You should able to find equivalent fluids based on specs that are close enough.
What is much more important is change interval and making sure the fluids doesn't run low. I recall once having to change diff oil as water had gotten in (so inspection along is important). I did not know if it was a limited slip diff so I put put some standard oil in. After a few weeks I noticed juddering in turns so figured maybe it is limited slip. Drained and replaced the fluid with a limited slip oil and all was well. This was a fairly expensive Range Rover, but really it ain't all that special. |
