On a Td5 with the rotary rear wash/wipe switch, the parking is handled by the switch. The output from the park switch on the brown/light green wire is fed back to the motor feed (red/light green) when the switch is turned off.
I assume when you say it won't park, it just stops instantly rather than continuing to run? The green wire should be at 12V at all times with the ignition on. https://www.lrworkshop.com/wiring-diagram/...rs-washers With it affecting your camera I assume you have lost the white/green > green 12V ignition feed. ![]() ![]() |

Hi Martin.
Yeah i have lost power to the white/green wire (which changes to green at the motor plug end) Looks to be fed via fuse 3 10amp. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

It can’t be the fuse as you can start a wipe and can wash (fuse 3 feeds both the wiper and washer circuits as well as the park switch). It think you are looking at a break somewhere on the rear door feed.

Cheers. I have traced the lack of power to the connector behind the rear speaker panel. Wire changes colour at the connector from green to green/white.
Any idea on the location of the power feed wire at the bulkhead end of the loom? I think i saw on a diagram that the same wire also feeds the water in fuel sensor. Need to go back and re-study the diagram but not on a phone 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Thanks Martin
If I under stand correctly, power in to the connector from fuse 3 on pin 1 and out on pin 4 to the washer motor and also out on pin 2 to the park switch ![]() Click image to enlarge There is also another connector C0377-3 & C0391-3 Engine side I will need to locate - which I think I will start with ![]() Click image to enlarge Very handy the interactive wiring diagrams - thanks LR Workshop 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Update time
Thanks to Martin and LRWorkshop for the wiring diagrams. I checked I had 12v at the engine bay connector and I did. I then proceeded to check for continuity and no continuity to the rear connector. Peeling back the wiring loom cover under the rear wheel arch I found two white/green wires that join together and then following this wire for approx 150mm I then found the wire changed colour and some shrink wrap on the cable. I dug a bit further and then found a bad solder joint joining the random wire to the original wire. Tested for continuity and I had some. Cut back the old duff wires and soldered in some new wire and plenty of shrink wrap. Wiper now parks where it should and the reverse camera also works again ![]() Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
