Fold up seats
I know there's bound to be a thread on here somewhere already but my googlefu is weak today.

Does anyone know the stance leaglly and insurance comapny wise on replacing the forward facing seats with earlier side facing sort.

The forward facing ones in my 90 do my head in as they're massive when not in use, even bigger when in use and obliterate the load space, but without providing a decent seat for rear passangers Mad

Rant over

p.s. yes I know I should have bought a 110 Rolling Eyes 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW

Side facing seats are no longer legal in private passenger vehicles made after 2006, I'm afraid, which is what prompted the change in Land Rovers. Your insurers would almost certainly disown you in the event of an accident.

are you fitting them to a td5 or earlier 110 ? you might get away with it on them but they were never standard on pumas

Thumbs Up .. having said that, I've been in a puma at the land rover factory, it had 3 rows of seats plus 4 side facing ... it had 3 doors each side and a rear door and was a puma

The Defender stretched tour vehicles were not road legal though and were limited to 20 or 25 MPH!

Mines a Puma 90 and bought it from dealers used with side facing seats. Question

Is it a van conversion? AFAIK, all Puma station wagons only came from the factory with forward facing seats. Darren

Yes, it is with side windows put in too all ready fitted when I bought it. Mines under commercial road tax of which the SW isn't. So my guess would be that changing forward facing seats in a SW to sideways wouldn't be legal seeing as it's fairly obvious it's a lower safety standard with the sideways seats with just lap belts than the forward facing with 3-point belts.
