Yes, it’s worth it, but the upgrade is limited unless you do a full install.
The factory speakers are very poor though, so even an upgrade on those is beneficial. But as you are aware, then the HU is the limiting factor without Amped power. It mainly depends on what sort of expectations you have and what you’d like to spend. You can get a decent upgrade for some money, but to upgrade a lot then it can get costly. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Thanks, figured that would be the case. I’m in the process of finishing off sound deadening and re-carpeting. Saw the speakers at £80 a pair and figured I’d stick them in for now. Then once everything else is done potentially look at a double din and some more hardware. 😎

That’s what I was hoping. They arrive today
![]() Once I finish the sound deadening in the rear I’ll get ones for the back too. Thanks everyone |

Sound deadening is an improvement in itself, as it reduces ambient noise and resonation.
So that increases perceived dB output from your speakers anyway, which of course is an improvement in SQ as well. Carpeting, in your case or light foam on top helps as well. ![]() Those specs on those speakers are pretty good for what you can get, pretty much as much as you can get safely from HU power only. Just beware the HU itself is free to vent heat. ![]() ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

I try not to write it down, as every time I do it’s out of date within minutes. There’s always something to keep you out of trouble 😂 2009 Stornaway Grey Puma Build Thread

Are the rears 4" also? And what about the tweeters? worth doing?
was kinda hoping to not use adaptors and just plug and play until I can upgrade and do my doubleDIN CONVERSION, AMP AND SUB ETC. |

I find every time I make a list, it keeps being added to and never ends.

I would say yes.
When I bought my 110 a year ago the HU was locked and we didn’t have the code so I thought ok, I’ll get a new HU and see how it sounds. It was a shock how terrible it was! Back to the store I went and got front, tweeters and rear, all 4” if I recall correctly. Made a huge difference in fidelity, now the sound is clean but it still lacks ompf in lack of a better word. My plan was to add an active bass speaker under a custom built cubby but my co-driver voted against once the prototype was on display. Something to do with ergonomics also for short people… That’s where we are at the moment but definitely swap out the stock speakers. |
