You're going to have to excuse my ignorance here (might look a bit silly asking this, too)......but why is it exiting the top of the wing vent there? Or have I missed something?
You're right though.......it is a big one!! *edited to ask.....it's not a photoshop job, is it? 2011 110 XS DC Stornoway Grey |

I have diverted the air pipe that originally pulled air from the wing side and now it pulls air from the wing top and then through the air filter.
I had the snorkel from a previous vehicle and had to get it to fit the PUMA air intake. In time, I will blank off the wing side vent Chris Bowler |

So you've put a deep-water wading intake on a wagon full of electronics?
Largely pointless except when it comes to scoring extra "All the gear" points. |

Are you sure it's not a flue? Maybe the next part of the project is to convert the car to run on logs...

Reminds me of Ivor the Engine.
Am I showing my age? |

Now I may have missed the point here, but I am defiantly not trying to bad mouth your design.
I do however think there is a flaw in you design. When wading that deep the engine will be able to breathe and as Long as the engine is running you shouldn't have a problem with water in the exhaust, but how will the driver breathe?? 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Simple. Rely on the well built - quality watertightedness that has become synonymous with the name 'Land Rover Defender' |

So are we agreed it looks just a little bit daft?
Can't wait to see the next set of photos, with intake removed. |
