TD5 Speedo and ODO not working
Hi All,

Got a new to me 2003 TD5 110 and trying to iron out the kinks. The Speedo doesn’t work and the Odometer screen is blank. I also have the fuel gauge going straight to full and the fuel light on with half a tank.

I have checked all the fuses and I have made sure it has 12V and Ground.

Do I have a dead Speedo and the wiring shows the fuel gauge running through it so I am guessing they are connected?

Any ideas?

Gav

Did you remove the instrument cluster and checked the connection at the back? Possibly it is loose or removed on purpose to avoid clocking additional miles. It being blank means it is either broken or not receiving 12v

The system is quite simple with the odometer receiving a pulse and recording the miles. The ECU does get the speed signal (for cruise control etc) but does not record any mileage. The speed signal is recorded through a sensor at the rear output shaft of the transfer box (where the drum handbrake is)
