proper application for the rear seats (6th & 7th)
We have the seats removed - they've been laying around useless for years. The idea was now to find a proper application for those seats:

This was the plan - using 80x100 mm timber to adapt the seats' attachment points. (wheelhouse "lower" base is at 180mm)

After a day of woodwork the seats could be mounted side-by-side. (just as close as possible to fold them up)

Very neat. Is it stable with just one person seated? Darren

Yes it is very stable for one 90kg person - so maybe even more.

Like it, very good. Do you have the lengths of each part if anyone wanted to make their own exactly the same?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Sure:

Keep an eye on the exact height oft this thing. (180mm) Otherwise the seats' locks wont like to catch the bottom brackets.

I would be happy to see a photo here if someone builds a similar rack. Thumbs Up

Best regards,
Martin

I forgot: You would have to drill holes 60mm from the edge for the top hinges' M8 stud bolts - with bigger diameter from the bottom in order to be able to screw nuts with washers. (on the top (480mm) bar)
