If you visit countries where an adventure vehicle would be truly tested, you find people rely on MUCH SIMPLER cars. The new defender is just a modern, very complicated, heavy, 1st world vehicle marketed to an "adventure aspiring" RICH client base with the intent to sell as many as possible to maximise profits.

Stop comparing the 1960 with 2023, just accept it

The clue's in the video title "I rubbish the...". He used to be a decent travel film maker but now he's just embittered.

Even when he did the CSR with his RRC, he got someone else to drive that while he stayed comfortably in his Toyota. Laughing Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

People do this kind of thing to get subscribers. There's a guy on YT who buys new vehicles and then wrecks them, or smashes them up.

Last month he bought a Ferrari and burnt it. He's got a huge subscriber base which more than pays for his activities.

l am not rich or "adventure aspiring" and l've got a new Defender. l bought it through my business because it's not that much more expensive than a premium small van and it's much better to drive.

I take him as he is and he is entitled to his opinions. There is a lot going on in this world and it must be nice that only thing worth complaining about is not getting the loan of a car.
I like to think to think of myself as an adventurer and explorer. I was adventurous enough to get married, buy a house and bring two daughters in to this world. I explored life through it's various ups, downs and vicissitudes. I think I'd like to do a video about some of the younger prospective partners that are out there but some how I cannot see Mr Someone down the road loaning me his 22 year old partner for the weekend..... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

LR have always said, if we do a new Defender then it has to sell to justify it. I think they’ve achieved that. Just done a 605mile road trip around the north of Scotland in mine. This is probably the best LR I’ve had.

I did see one grenadier at Melvich, the owner out tending to his sheep. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
