Towing anomaly (or not?)

l noticed that when towing the caravan with my Defender the sidelights won't turn on. The "Auto" lights symbol is lit but you can't turn on the sidelights.

However you can turn on the headlights and then the sidelights come on as well. So it's okay. But you can turn the sidelights on when not towing.

Seems a bit unusual.

Can someone try the following on their Defender when a trailer or caravan is connected. Turn the light switch to the "off" position and then try to turn on the sidelights only.

Update this seems to have rectified itself, last time l towed the 'van the lights worked normally
