Does anyone have experience with this fridge? Can't find any reviews about any of these Chinese fridges online but it looks just like what I'm after for my camper.

I do believe it has a compressor, it's just hidden in the body of the fridge, can just about see the slats on the bottom left of the fridge. I agree though I would only consider a compressor fridge, plus I want that sweet dual zone

Have you looked at Alpicool? On Amazon, various sizes and not bad prices. I've no experience of them, but the reviews are quite favourable for the price - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alpicool-Portable...31c1f06c86.

Be careful on the power consumption. Some of the cheaper fridges chew power. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Thanks Tony that alpicool fridge does look proper smart, it's so tall though to be honest I'd rather not have the fridge sticking up 20cm above the worktop

Interesting video, I am definitely starting to be tempted by that alpicool fridge, but the 45l version

I was quite impressed on the draw. Less than I thought. Put a solar charger on the power pack and it’ll be fine. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

I have a Alpicool 45l fridge that I run off a Jackery 1000 power station.
The fridge pulls about 60W when the compressor is running but of course it does not run all the time. I did work out that the Jackery will keep the fridge going for days without any extra charge. I have it set up that the Jackery is charged from the vehicle via a Victron 12 - 24 DC/DC converter when driving. I also have a set of solar panels to top up the Jackery when parked up in the sun. I've a number of long touring trips including the NC500 not known for its sunny conditions and always had plenty of power. The Jackery is also charging phones and camping lights. Thanks for the inputs all, I decided to buy the alpicool one as linked above, I bought the 35l model as it still had decent internal volume and I didn't want it sticking up 30cm above my worktop
 Had an Amazon voucher too so only cost me 250 quid! Thats good to know Steve! I will be running mine off a Yuasa L36AGM leisure battery so it should have more than enough juice to keep it running non stop 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

Appreciate you've already bought it but I am another advocate of the Alpicool. I bought mine (45L) about 3 years ago from a campervan website. It doesn't get used often but I have it wired up directly to the battery in the defender with a 12v socket.
On Eco, set to 2 degrees with the battery voltage protection I've had it running for 2 days without driving. At this point it shows the battery voltage sitting down to around 12.3v. I like how it has this feature, albeit I don't know whether the voltage reading is accurate or not. I haven't had the mettle to test the protection feature, namely due to the fact that when I'm using the fridge I tend to be quite remote and would need the truck to start. Recently had it on a 2 week trip to northern spain and it worked beautifully (if fairly hard) in 33 degrees keeping everything inside lovely and cold. In addition it got about rattled to death on some of the corrugated roads and still performs well. For the price vs a Dometic for example I don't think you can go wrong, particularly if you aren't using it too regularly. It's also very convenient that the lid just touches the headlining when put on the wheel arch (or the drawers in my case).  Click image to enlarge |
