[Wanted] 110 Station wagon 300 TDI or TD5

Hello. I joined the forum back in March and I am no closer to getting a Defender so I thought I would reach out in case there is something out there. I've been to see a few but everything I have seen needs more work than I want to be getting on with.

I'm looking for a 110 station wagon. Ideally TD5 but I would be happy with 300TDi. My main requirements is for it to be as unmolested and as original as possible. I am looking for something with a completely solid chassis and bulkhead. (ideally a galvanised chassis) My budget is around the 10K mark.

Does anyone have anything they want to get rid of?

I would also value any comments on my budget if people think I'm way off.

I think your budget is low I am afraid. I would have thought what you are after would be closer to 15k.

Sub 10K will get you a td5 or tdi but likely to need a few pounds spending on it. Quite a few on FB

I don't use Facebook unfortunately and It wont let you browse without logging in. I have been mainly looking on eBay and Autotrader, i have looked at carandclassic but they always seem overpriced in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback on price range. I have seen good examples for the 10 mark but they go very quickly before I can do anything about it. There was a really nice white low mileage 300tdi on autotrader earlier this week for £9950. It got snapped up real quick.

Shame my one has now sold on here, Td5, galvanized very heavy duty chassis. Lots of extras and an external cage though, so maybe not for you.

I have a 1986 110 300tdi but it is a project hence the cheap price of £3750’

What do you mean by "project."

I already have 2 car restorations on the go so I'm looking for something that I can use and enjoy. I don't mind a bit of tinkering but I don't want to buy something that's going to be layed up in the shed for weeks (or months and years if the other restorations are anything to go by!!)

By project I mean it needs some TLC
it needs a service as its been parked up a while
it needs two bulkhead footwells plating
a bulkhead corner plating
a good check over
A rear crossmember with extensions
A MOT

that's why its priced at £3750 for a 110 CSW
