Defender3D towing mirror clamps
Has anybody used these clamps? Any views welcome! Been using a set of Oppi towing mirrors which I thought were really good till one went bouncing away on the way back from north Wales today!

Thank you.

Michael

l have the OPPI towing mirrors and they are superb, they are minimalist and never fall off.

Expensive but worth it. However you do need to make sure they are properly fitted, l didn't the first time and nearly lost both mirrors.

Yep. They are the same as mine. Thought they were rock solid and would never fall off. No idea what went wrong today. Both were fitted as normal and tightened as normal but near side fell off about 100 miles into journey. No warning, no drooping mirror, one moment was fine then just dropped off? Something must have failed. Was going to replace with same again but having a look to see what else is available.

Yep, the D3D are a popular choice for Aussie owners who tow, and have to deal with corrugations
and alike. Many pair the D3D up with Milenco’s or like me if you have Brunsgaard they fit nicely as well
Just did 2 months towing an off road caravan over 7,500 kms, the D3D mounts kept the mirrors in
place with no issues..

When using OPPO mirrors on
the Defender you have to make sure the front hook is properly fitted into the mirror, the end of the hook has to be behind the glass.

lf you don't do this, the mirrors appear perfectly secure but then just suddenly come loose without warning and start swinging about.

They simplify tow mirror mounting, keep them secure and require minimum effort to put on and off, in fact I leave the mounts on all the time and you can just insert the tow mirror bar and tighten when I need to hitch up. They even allow for the vehicles own mirrors to fold in when locking …. yet another pommie bar steward down under
