2003 TD5 Central Locking
Hi all

Central locking works fine using the pips, however once sat inside the vehicle if I push the lock button down on the drivers door the passenger and rear door remain unlocked.

The central locking is obviously working as it should but why is the main locking button on the drivers door not also locking the passenger and rear door?

Any advice or ideas?

Thanks

Jim

That could be a setting within the 10AS ECU. Either way it would be worth plugging a nano com or other device into the vehicle to see what is going on.

The driver's door actuator has an extra pair of wires/inbuilt switch which signals to the 10AS module that the door has been manually locked (either with the key or with the internal button).

It is possible that the switch inside the actuator has stopped working, or that one of the wires has broken inside the rubber tube that runs to the door.

You can test the behavior of the switch quite easily by also trying to lock the drivers door with the key (to see if it locks the other doors) and to try pressing the fob when the drivers door is opened to see if the system locks and unlocks again immediately.

If neither of these things work then you need to look at the wires that run to the door or possibly a new actuator.

FEIW I’ve had a similar problem for years with my drivers door. It’ll unlock but not the all the other doors with the key and the alarm goes off. So… I only use the fob. I am aware that a wire in the door is likely broken. I just don’t feel like tracing it and repairing it 🤷‍♂️ Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
