Nope, have always found them to be excellent in the wet. The only time I have been concerned was when I hit a diesel spill, but any tyre would be a bit squirrely with that on the road.

Interesting review from a Tacoma https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bfg-ko3-review.812711/

Apparently they have a 50k mile guarantee... Rolling Eyes

There is a definite difference in the tread block pattern.

The KO3s look to have longer more slanted diagonal grooves across the tyre.

Just noticed, front and centre on the BFG webpage for the KM3... A lovely blue 110.

All the obstacles. All the possibilities. Thumbs Up

Yep,in the wet I’ve had a couple of sketchy moments that wouldn’t have caused my old ST’s a problem. WARNING.

Not just you WIlko, I had a set of K02's on my old wheel setup, the width I fail to remember but I had always had major under steer issues.

I seem to remember trying several different pressures also.

What also didn’t help is the fact I do not have ABS so a lot of modulation was required in these conditions. Definitely had some brown moments.

they were on a 16" rim and width on the skinnier side btw.

I did however drive another TD5 with 265/275 K02's on and didn't witness lock up to the same extent but certainly did fall victim of understeer

I have a more road biased tyre now; Radar Renegades AT-5's in 275/65/18, from memory. and theyre lovely. Luke Marsden

I did about 20k on my KO2's on my TD5 110 and never felt anything wrong in the wet, two scottish winters and plenty of trips through the highlands and islands even at christmas last year. They don't feel that far off the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros on my L322, I would say mass has more of an effect than the tyre. My 110 was never that heavily laden aside from us and the bags at christmas and never felt out of control with them.

The KO2s I had were awful on wet winter roads. Standard 235/85/16. They would regularly lock up just normally pulling up to a junction with a trailer on. I changed to General Grabber AT3 18 months ago and it hasn't happened once.

I’ve always been very happy with the set of 235/85/16 on my 300, I’ve had them on there since maybe 2016? they’ve always been very well behaved on all surfaces. However I put a set of the same size on my td5 double cab about 18 months later and they’re completely different. I’ve locked up a couple times with them, even in the dry, and am now considering a change on that vehicle.
I wonder if something changed in the manufacturing process over the years that can cause the same make, model and size to behave so differently?
Both vehicles don’t have abs and would weight about the same.

I seem to recall that there were two versions of the KO, one which was 3PMSF and the other not. It would be interesting to correlate this with the wet grip - something must be different to give such polar performance.

Also, whilst not a perfect way to judge, they do have a B wet grip rating on the EU tyre label which is better than most other AT tyres. That would at least suggest they shouldn’t be terrible. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I too find that the KO2s are sketchy in the wet, i never had this problem with the ko's as i had 100% confidence in them but not the KO2s Rolling Eyes 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

That’s interesting. I’ll check mine tomorrow to see what markings they have but to be clear, I’m not stating they’re dangerous or anything but they don’t have the wet weather grip of the Cooper STTs did, which I find surprising. However, they’re much quieter and less aggressive looking so I’ll see how I get one…

It would be interested to track where they are made. When I was into fast cars there was a lot of debate around Goodyear tyres and that they were tailored for specific markets. The feeling was discount tyre retailers were sourcing cheaper tyres from outside the home market with different qualities. You could get Eagle Assymetrics made in the EU, Asia and I think North America and people would insist they had different characteristics despite them being the same model tyre on the sidewall. For example, some markets prize high mileage so the version made for that region would trade off grip to give a longer life. The talk was always that the European market didn’t covet long life so much, but we did put more emphasis on wet weather so we got tyre optimised for that. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I have ko2s on my 110, 60k on first set and 50k on second set. 3peaks marked both sets, superb all year round. 235.85s.

Have a 3peak set 265.75.16s on a 90, superb all year round.

Have at2s on l322, they are good, not as good as ko2s in myopion on wet grass or winter roads.

Km, km2s 255.85s on 110 and 90 and they are great on mud, grassy fields, not as good, as expected on tarmac, wet or dry.

Continental contacts on an90 235.85s, good on tarmac, supersingly good off road muddy tracks, crap on wet tarmac.

Haven't found any of kos lacking

For those locking up presume thats on front, what's rear braking like, bias valve ok? Too much to front and they will lock anything. Cheers

Just checked the markings on the tyre on both vehicles and they’re exactly the same 3PMSF marked only difference is age by a small margin.
Jst, I think I’ll be taking your advice and looking at the bias valve on the td5, try and rule that out.
