TDi/ Air in radiator/ coolant in reservoir
I've got a bit of a problem with my cooling system and I just can't figure out what it is. Maybe one of you guys has an idea?

It's a 300tdi conversion in an exMoD.

I check my coolant level daily, as I'm currently overlanding in North America. Since a few weeks (mainly since an accident: truck flipped over, engine ran away for a few seconds - but it might be a coincidence ), I've noticed that the coolant level in the reservoir is too high, sometimes all the way up to the top.

When I open the radiator bung, there's no coolant in the top 10cm. If the coolant tank and radiator as re open, coolant flows back to the radiator.

When I open the coolant reservoir cap when the engine is still hot (slowly, to let the pressure out) I can hear gurgling sounds and water/air moving around, with the same results.

So I'm not sure if the phenomenon happens when I park the engine and is fine will I'm driving or if the radiator is always half empty.

In any case, I have no overheating issues. Temperature is at a normal level and the heater works fine. I have drive a couple of 1000km like is - just finished driving the Dempster Highway today, for example.

Any ideas what's wrong? Where's the air coming from and why is it stuck in the radiator, instead of moving to the tank?

I currently bleed the coolant system every morning, but it's getting kinda annoying...
