Exmoor Trim - Premium High Back Seat
I'm a bit in a pickle...
I'm looking for a set (new/new-ish) Premium High Back Seat (ideally black) from Exmoor Trim. at the moment the delivery time is 10 weeks +. However the wife said in the last minute that the old seats suck (they do) and are not ideal for long journeys (thats also true). Would someone have a hint where I could source a set? Or is there an alternative solution that does not involve me to hack up the floor again to fit in the Puma conversion kit from YRM?

Any pointer is much appreciated

thanks

Renault Scenic rear seats are said to be a good fit. I don't know how much hacking is required.

I know there are a lot of people that work hard to improve their defender. Personally coming from Series Land Rovers, a defender is utter decadent luxury. Joking aside, you never are going to make it a comfortable vehicle.

Quite a few people here consider the Exmoor seats (rear 110 td5 option) not very comfortable. I have a bunch of exmoor stuff for my series and love it. I looked at rear seat options for my 110 DC and just went out and bought Discovery 4, had a few of the years, brilliant family vehicle.

thanks for the recommendation. I just don't want to slice up my floor for fitting an alternative. I fixed the crossmember holding my rear seats and opted not to go with the Puma conversion. Little I knew that wifey would come with the point that she's not keen on the stock seats Smile But 7 weeks before driving off options are thinly available I'm afraid Td5 110 Station

If you are in a pickle and looking for a temporary solution then have a look at minibus seats. They are generally high backed, fairly comfy and easy to fit to most vehicles.

For instance the Ford Transit rear seats would work with limited modification to the second row flooring.

Bolt a couple front seats on the rear bench frame. I did that in my 110 CSW years ago.

I ordered my Exmoore Premium High Back Seat for the 2nd row in February and they are still not ready. Spoke with them this week and the have supplier issues for the frames.

Can’t help with an alternative source, but highly recommend the high backs; they transfer the rear seats.

Just curious because they say they're TUV rated but how do the high backs fit? To existing brackets? I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/

The Exmoor Premium High Backs come with their own bracketry that has to be bolted to the floor using spreader plates underneath. A two person job but not particularly difficult. All the hardware from the old 60:40 bench seat comes out, very saleable if in reusable condition.

Some more here https://www.defender2.net/forum/post267696.html

The way I understand it, the base does not fold forward (only the back folds down) so you are loosing quite a bit of load space.

I which there was a retrofit head rest option for the standard 60/40 seat. No headrest looks really exposed and unsafe to me.
