Window Blocks
Hi,

I'm about to fit some new window blocks (Off-road Monkey) to a 2011 USW, anything to watch out for? (I'm hoping that I don't have to remove the horizontal strut on the roll cage)

Thanks,

You shouldn't have to remove the roll cage strut. The only thing I would do is fill up the rear void with silicone. It helps the gasket seat properly against the bulkhead and as such reduces the chances of water leaking past the gasket.

When I refitted mine, I used standard paper gasket that I soaked in oil. I also applied some butyl around the bolt holes to ensure no water gets into the bulkhead.

I would not use silicone, as it has high content of acetic acid, which promotes corrosion. However filling with epoxy or similar is not a bad idea, if the offraod monkey ones are hollow like the genuine ones. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
