Lift, Bigger Tires, and Wheel Spacers

Anyone have experience wheel spacers running a lift and larger tires. My set up is 1.5” lifting rods with 275/60/20 BFG KO2’s. I was thinking about spacers to fill the wheel well better especially since I have wheel arch extensions on also. Looking to some experience reports and size recommendations. I believe I have space on the backside of my wheels for thinner spacers without cutting lugs. Would love to see some pictures of the results if someone has some.

i had 1in rods with wheel spacers. I have used them on my defender and a 2010 LR4 and had to remove them from both because of high speed vibration.

i do not recommend them.. i removed the lift thinking that was the cause but was not.

Not a fan of lift rods to start with, but why go for thinner spacers than 22mm/25mm?
Not only stance but also off-road they give you more protection of the side body.
Use a good brand spacers and you will have no problem with hign speed.
Downside are with spacers on small deep tracks, makes the wide Defender even wider.
Good luck with your decision 😀 No Mud flaps for my 90.!

Not first hand experience. But lift rods just reduce the amount of suspension droop. And watching YouTube vids seem to make the new Defender ride worse and look bouncy off road.

I know it’s a USA off road culture thing to go huge lift and even huge’r tyres. But you probably don’t need either to go off road.

Don’t get me wrong though. I love the look of lifted off roaders in huge tyres

That said. If you want to spend the money I like the look of the New Defender Mods kit:

Keeps the suspension working as it should but still gives you a lift. Not cheap though.

The Lucky8 SYA kit looks to have potential. Although some aspects I’m not so keen on. But massively cheaper than the New Defender Mods solution.

That sucks that was your experience. I ended up adding 20mm front and 25mm rear. Rubs if in access so I turned auto access off. No high speed vibration. They run great. Put a set on my wife’s 130 with stock tires. Did 25mm front 30mm rear and they work and look great.
