Want another 130 - project or not
We loved our 130 and so many amazing tours to Africa and Europe with the kids. They grew up and we had no use for the vehicle.

I’ve always looked longingly at each 130 for sale and knew I would probably dip in again….

So have been offered a 2015 with no compression on one cylinder for £20k. Engine starts.

In two minds as to the size of task ahead. I have no space to garage it and do the work undercover and until stripped I can’t say how terminal it is. I would tackle it myself if time allowed.

Anyone had a rebuild or a replacement labour price on a TDCI with engine issues? 1951 80" S1 2.0

Just put an M57 in it, the 2.2 isn't an engine to worry about rebuilding.

You could buy my 2011. It’s a little bit in project mode at the moment. It’s ex-utility and had a box rear on it which I’ve just taken off in preparation to start building a tray back. Could easily go back on.
In good mechanical order. Was maintained at no expense spared. And I’ve done loads to it.

Lots of sensible mods.

I think I’ve run out of steam with it.

Edit.

It’s a little bit different to that picture with a light bar on the roof rack and some other bits

I had the 2.4 in my 09 plate 130 replaced last year by a local independent.
Died at 113000 miles with no compression on no.2. Total cost to supply and fit new engine £5500 + vat

Useful replies as always thanks.

Wondering what an M57 would do to the longer term value rather than original 130 with TDCI drivetrain? Agree it’s a better unit all round.

ggc130 PM me more.

£5500. Where was the engine from?

if its fitted up well with a TDCI gearbox and so forth I would say its about even value wise in my eyes, but then again I like things a carlos fandango and I don't count rivets.

I'm currently looking at a sort of M57 conversion thats not been done before as a project.
