Did anyone opt for the dash cam?
I was considering it but concerned that it looks like a bit of an afterthought. Has anybody who got one got a view on it?

I got one, dealer fitted it (badly).

It’s an average product, as others said you would probably be better with one of the other ones.

Most irritating is that if you try to use the app when you have Car Play wireless on your phone, it gets stuck in a drop out loop, since it has to kill CarPlay to Wi-Fi to the Camera, succeeds then 3 seconds later re-activates CarPlay, thus dropping Camera Wi-Fi. Only way I can see to connect to the camera is to turn off CarPlay first. So I basically will never use the App except if there is a crash and I need to download the videos, but maybe that’s the point.

I got one fitted a couple of years ago, works great, picture maybe not the best on market but picks up number plates, and is clear. The app isn’t the best but when you down load a clip it goes straight to a “Dashcam” in files on an i phone and then is easy to review. Basically it’s good enough to see who was at fault in an accident.

We have it installed - it's not bad. We have Blackvue in the work vans, and they work in a similar way with the Wi-Fi connection.

We figured that getting it installed by the dealer meant if there were any electrical issues along the way then it can only be their fault! Cost wise, it's probably similar to getting any other of the brand name front & rear setups installed.

I fitted one of these the other week. FITCAMX.
It’s got decent picture and easy to fit, just swap out the sensor cover and plugs in to the rain sensor feed.
App works okay.
Front camera only in my case.

I’ve got one fitted and it’s ok apart from the fact that you can see both cameras on the app recording but if you download the video to your phone and need to use the video outside of the app you only see the front camera. With help from on this forum I found that to see both cameras you need to use VLC on a pc or Mac, but then you can’t save each track separately. So it’s a bit sh*t really. 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar

I had it fitted by the dealer so that I did not have to worry about someone else messing up the electrics.
It seems ok. When I wanted a clip of an event I was able to download it and edit it on my computer to get the bit I wanted. Not wonderful but works for me.

The footage I wanted was on the front camera and I edited it on my computer using Quicktime.
