D200 v D250
What’s the opinion of the D200 versus the D250, both are 3 litre diesel? Cheers

Whatever you buy just have either of them remapped to D300 spec 😊

Reviews of the D200 say it's really good, look at "Harry's Farm" 12 month review of the 90 D200 on Youtube.

He used it to tow a Jaguar saloon car on a trailer. l guess the D250 will be a bit better.

Yes, there’s no difference in the engines other than the mapping. You can contact https://www.facebook.com/lr.retrofits/ if interested, they do it for Defender and D5.

I’ve had the D200 90 and currently a have a D250 110, can’t say I notice much of a difference, could size weight difference between the two. Personally I’d have no hesitation going for the D200. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

It is correct that there isn't a difference in the engines apart from mapping but I'd heard they weren't offering this service anymore and it no longer appears on their webpage Confused

I have a D200 and quite regularly drive a D250 and you would be really pushed to tell the difference Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Advertising it and offering it are two different things…

Hello,

I have a D200 3.0D.
Honestly, the car goes very strong, it's fast,
For a 2.5 ton machine, this horsepower is perfect.
of course I imagine a D300 or a D250, fantastic, when I go fast with my Defender, I feel all the mass and dynamics of the car, I don't lack more power.
Power increase LR Retrofit? not necessary in my opinion.

Ive had both and ran side by side.
Both are excellent engines and I would run either.

The D250 definitely clinches my choice if I had to make one.
So smooth and so much torque..it is noticeably better but only when you push a little harder

Clemmo Thumbs Up Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....

I drive the 110 SE D200. Sometimes with 3 m trailer full of wood. 200hp is more than enough. I really like this engine. After 1.5 years ownership and 55000 km not one problem with the engine. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)
