90 First Edition

Well I’m off on Holiday next week and taking the two Grandchildren with us. I’ve put a few tools in the boot and the pushchair and I’m really starting to think that the 90 was a wrong move and the 110 would have been more suited.
In general there is just the two of us so I thought it would be fine but after a trip to France with my parents it got me thinking. The electric seat movement to get into the back is ridiculously slow which when it was raining cats and dogs was no fun. Then the beer run at the docks and filling the boot was a real test of my packing skills Laughing

Then the realisation that I can’t have the Expo rack because I have the Canvas roof was a kick in the balls Big Cry

It will be a good test this week to see how we cope with it. On the plus side it is very well equipped unlike the new ones coming through. The Grandson loves sitting up front in the jump seat as well. First Edition 90 in Pangea Green.

That was the reason I went for a 110 but now I have the extra space I never use it Laughing

I’m going back to the 90, for all its inadequacies you can’t help but love it. What will help, if Simon at Powerful UK can create a small storage tray for under the boot floor, seems a bit of wasted space under there. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

That would be very useful.
My Discovery was a commercial and had a massive space under the boot floor. So somewhere to store a few bits would be great. First Edition 90 in Pangea Green.

Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
I really want to love this car but it’s just not doing it for the two of us.
It looks like an expensive mistake to bail out from Big Cry

I’m at a real loss what to go to next. First Edition 90 in Pangea Green.

I feel your pain. I'm the same with my 110. I'm so underwhelmed. I miss my D3/4 Big Cry

Gutted to be honest.
With retirement last year at a fairly young age this was probably going to be my last big purchase of a LR.
Like you I’m now looking at D4’s even a D3 or a RR Confused

I spoke with a dealer a couple of days ago about moving to a 130. Typical Censored dealers where so slimy and useless as usual Big Cry
The car was missing the usual bits these days and he was over selling the vehicle about how it doesn’t matter Rolling Eyes Having all the bits on my 90 I don’t really want to sacrifice the items I already have to pay even more money.
They then valued the Defender 5K less than WBAC Rolling Eyes He then didn’t believe so went off to check. Came back to up his offer another £1K so now only 4K under Rolling Eyes
There’s not a mark on my car so WBAC couldn’t do the usual knocking down.

So I’m utterly lost where to turn now. First Edition 90 in Pangea Green.

It really is a dilemma.

I can't decide wether to go back to. D3/4 and get a day to day car or jut accept defeat and get a D5?

LR offered me £59k for my car Censored with 8k on the clock (I paid £75k end of October 22) whereas WBAC offered me £65k - go figure Confused

The Defender is lovely to drive, but its bad packaging (boot and rear door) is more of an issue to me than I thought it would be.

Whilst I haven't retired yet, I'm 56, I plan to in the next 18 months and need a big wagon for my next holiday home in France. It's all a conundrum. Confused

I’m 47 and keeping seeing Del on Holiday which inspired me Laughing Wink

Had the D5 for two years and it was excellent to be honest. However, I’m not looking at getting another at the minute but I’m tempted back into a D4 whilst the world sorts itself out.

I’ve got a Tesla Model 3 as my run around which I just love and my Crafter conversion for other trips so don’t really need a LR. If only I could walk away and not look back Laughing Big Cry Laughing Big Cry First Edition 90 in Pangea Green.

Maybe we should set up a support group. Laughing

I retired at 47, got bored because all my mates were still working so went back to the mill. Even if I retire at 58 i'd still want to do something.

Anyway, moving on, maybe a T6 Synchro is a better bet alongside something fun Confused
