opinions on the gutter mount front runner jerry can holder?
Specifically this one -

https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/u...older.html

Does anyone have one fitted? They look "neat" (as in tidy, rather than "cool") but i fear other vehicals catching it when parked up (i know they can go on the back also, but ive got a ladder on one side, and the wheel carrier on the other, so they would have to go on the side.

Thank you.

have seen them on a few rigs, never seen the point as the weight is high up, a lot of strain on the gutter edge as well.pain in the arse to fill it and lift it up etc.

similar price to the plastic rear wing/ wheel arch tanks...

just my opinion

I don't have a jerry can holder as you need, but I do have a New Defender with Side Mounted Box on the nearside and a ladder on the off side. These two items stay within the width of the vehicle, due to the big door mirrors.

Not sure you will fit the jerry can within the side mirror ??

I agree with you on all counts. Im still looking at them though -

Ive got (not yet fitted, waiting till i do the chasiss) one of those inline rear quarter tanks, but i suspect ill still want a can. Im sick of them being in the same space as the "clean" stuff, as, no matter how hard you try, you always get diesel about the place.

The roof mounted holders are cheaper, but they seem an even worse idea for all the reasons you mention (apart from cost)

I reckon, with the wheel arches, the holder would (possibly) not increase the "widest point" but thats not to say other vehicles "widest points" would not constantly be whacking them.

You can see im not convinced. I guess im hoping someone to change that, but that plan doesnt seem to be going so well!
