Old man emu.
Festive Greetings and a happy new year to all.
I'm looking to replace the shocks on my puma 110 for Old Man Emu..
Plan is to change the rear shocks for pin to pin set up. Truck is kitted out for overlanding and running a 2" lift. Is anyone running a similar set up and if so would you still have the shocks parts number. I had been thinking of running 60070 front and 60070L in the rear I'm aware these are a bigger shock but given the terrain in albania and Bosnia (planned trip soon) I thought the extra capacity would be of some benefit. Unfortunately due to brexit buying in the UK is no longer and option as import taxes make things to expensive. So I'm going to look in main land Europe.

Thanks all.

I've yet to actually fit them (life), but have purchased a set of these for my 130 build: https://www.britpart.com/all-parts/60147

I plan to run them in conjunction with these upper mounts from Gwyn Lewis: https://gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/product/rear-ad...nt-gl1171/

Gwyn Lewis lists a number of shock options on his site and I am not entirely sure which the 60147s class as. I believe they are either the standard length - firm valving or +3" - firm valving. If the latter, then I may have a set (brand new in box) available as I am actually intending to run anti roll bars.... will need to do some digging. Feel free to PM me if I can be of any further help. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Thanks lad,
Looking at the details of 60147 I would think they're open length is standard fitment. I think from research I've done that + shocks are over 600mm when open. But I'm open to correction on this. I had thought of making contact with gwyn Lewis but it's unaffordable to buy from the UK and don't expect someone's knowledge without purchasing something from them. 60070l are +5 pin to pin. With a heavy rating on d44 website.

I know Gwyn Lewis sells the OME GL2009 which are the firm, and up to a plus 3” pin pin setup. He runs these I pin pin on his with ARBs.
I prefer the longer pin pin version with stiffer valuing and no ARBs.

Thanks Andy, Thats what I was interested in but the part code is unique to Gwyn Lewis. He doesnt list the Old man emu part code.

60070 are
Defender 110 (all years) - Up to 50mm - 110 / 500 Kgs - Front / Rear.

The 60070L are +5s

It's a mind field of numbers in my head. The 60070s are going in the front. Just need to sort the rears.

Edited to say the 60070 are +2 shocks.

i have fitted +2 OME shocks and springs as you describe, in fact its the second set on my 90 and i swear by them, i have them on my other landy as well.

I fully understand about the numbers etc on the web, what I did was email Gwyn what I wanted and then telephoned him, he talked me through what i needed and I bought them, he is a very nice person to deal with in fact he marked all the spring boxes front O/S etc etc Bow down Bow down Bow down so I couldn't make a mistake fitting them Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter 2016 Discovery 4

60070 are softer on both compression and rebound compared to 60147 and 60146 Puma 110" SW

Since Brexit I buy OME parts from these guys, - https://www.trillickautoparts.com
No duties etc. as based in NI.
Use the brit part catalogue for reference numbers of OME stuff.
