Intermittent Speaker Outages
Hi All,

Approximately every 1 in 10 drives, half my speakers seem to cut out, mainly the rear speakers. It affects the stereo but also the indicators sound.

A stop, lengthy pause, then re-start seems to fix the issue. But annoyingly, it doesn't seem to be rectified with a quick off and on again. I have to leave it off for a while.

Anyone have ideas on root cause / solution?

Do you think a software update would fix it?

I've had the same problem since I took delivery in May this year. Still no joy after several OTA updates, I'm also convinced its worse after the 3.3.1 update. Seems to be something to do with the boot up process after you start the car. Leaving it for 10 mins or so to let everything shut down appears to be the only solution at the moment!

We've had the same on many occasions.
We now turn on the ignition/car (eg press start without foot on brake) let everything whilst putting belts on etc. Then start the car.
Touch wood, coincidence or not we haven't had the problem since (maybe it's gone away anyway - but we're used to the routine now Laughing

Thanks both! Glad to hear I'm not alone.

May be coincidence, but mine started after I left the doors open for an extended period of time. (fitting roof rack). The car turned the lights off after and while which was fine. But then this speaker thing started.

Did you have anyone at JLR look at it?

No we've not been to JLR, wouldn't hold much hope of the 'fault' being found

I know ours isn't a fix but it's something we do know and something I've done on all our recent Land rovers.
Maybe it's been fixed with updates !

I had this today. First time in over 5000 miles. I only had sound from the rears. Fronts came back on after car switched off and went to sleep.

Its another one to my long and growing list Rolling Eyes

I've been fidding with this issue for a while amongst others and I feel that most of these errors are being caused by Android Auto, in combination with other factors.

It seems to be that the car wants to connect to Android Auto via wireless but I also often plug it into the USB-c in the wired dashboard, which, if done too soon after getting into the car, seems to conflict with each other, causing either no sound to be heard at all (even moving the volume wheel does not do anything, doesnt even pop a visual on the screen), or the problems mentioned in this thread.

The quickest way I found to reset it is to revoke and reinstate microphone access to the Android Auto app which causes it to disconnect and reconnect completely.

A second cause happens when my dog is in the car and I forget to plug in the seatbelt in the front to avoid the seatbelt alarm. You'll notice that exactly the same speakers are disconnected while this alarm is going off so it might not reset after triggering it.

By the way, even the blinker sound only comes from the front right speakers when this problem occurs.

This could well be the issue - I'll play around a bit and come back on this one. Thanks

This same problem is happening very often on my 110 Defender 2022 with Meridian soundsystem.

I don't use Apple/Android CarPlay since I need to use the usb-c plug to connect (I dont have the wireless connexion for some reason I don't understand - maybe not offered in my region : Tunisia).

Didn't find a way to solve the problem except turning off the car for +10 minutes every time.

This is driving me crazy...

Do you plug the phone in before you turn the ignition on?

Try doing the opposite..

No, I used the plug maybe 10 times since I bought the car 8 months ago. And I don’t have wireless Apple CarPlay. But my phone automatically connects to the car Bluetooth each time I start the vehicle.

Since the 3.3.2 software update, I haven't had any further issues.

Has your problem continued?

Mine did it again yesterday, happens on a fairly regular basis and. I’ve the latest software. Worked it out that it seems to happen when I’ve say been shopping, unlock car and put stuff in boot. And then don’t get in car immediately so it’s unlocked for say 5 mins. Then when I start car the fault occurs , only sound from right hand front speakers and no indicator sound notification. It resets itself when car locked and left for a few minutes. On one of the Facebook sites someone has said that LR know all about it and an update is due to cure the problem 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar
