Inconspicuous Tree Sliders
Standard sills or tree sliders? is the question I've been mulling over for a while now.

I like the look of standard sills, but worry my new doors will get damaged in car parks. I like the protection the tree sliders could potentially provide, but worry they'll look a bit too extreme for my Ninety:

Thoughts?

I'm edging towards black painted Safari Equip sliders, but just wondered if there were any other options out there, before I commit to buy?

I’d fit some non bar type ones every time, there’s not a chance in hell I’d want to take the risk of someone driving into the side of a Defender without them.

These are mine, i like them, they don’t stick out much and have jacking points. I could easily have them painted body colour if needed.

Tree sliders every day.

You say that you value your doors in car parks then is a no brainier.

Spaces have stayed the same size, cars have got bigger and the general public doesn’t seem to give a toss about other peoples property.

One space I ended up in once I had to get out standing on the slider, close the door, walk along the slider, foot on the tyre then a twist and double pike and I was out. The car next to me would never have got their door open.

Good looking 90 by the way Thumbs Up

I had some knob wait for me to complain they had damaged their door on my Rock slider.

lovely dent along the edge of their door.

They didn't get it when I pointed out it was their fault and would have damage my door if it wasn't there.

I like the look of the ORE ones that double up as a step.

Good looking 90.

Thanks chaps - you've convinced me to go with the rock sliders without the tree bars.

And thank you for the compliments on my 90.

I will post the finished result once fitted Thumbs Up

Side steps also protect the doors.

Do you happen to know if these are not shown on ORE 4x4's website? I am looking at:

https://ore4x4.co.uk/product-category/land...cessories/

and not seeing them there or elsewhere on their website, but I need a set myself and would be interested to see their design. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Ah right thanks, that explains that.

Not too keen on their design:

Think I'll go with the more traditional Safari Equip version:

Same as on a couple of 90's I've had in the past. 30x50mm (or is it 30 x 60?) box IIRC, sticks out from the edge of the door by about 10~15mm. When painted the same colour as the vehicle is very discreet.

This is one of the reasons I fitted tubular side steps, to protect the doors from inconsiderate idiots, of which there are many unfortunately! 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW

I had these Bearmach ones on my 90 for years and they were great (provided protection but were discrete) however when I replaced my chassis they wouldn't fit (no adjustment) so I went for the Terrafirma ones instead.
Would have gone for straight ones again but wanted to protect my new galv doors.
