Scottish electric 4x4
Anyone see this? It's a Scottish company making electric 4x4 vehicle. They odd thing is that they are using Land Rover beam axles, which Land Rover walked away from.

Looks very much like reincarnation of the Ibex. Always fancied one.

I have attended. Launch of what the production vehicle will look like. They are hoping for first production deliveries in 2023. From what I see here that is optimistic. A lot of work on making body weather proof yet as well as production optimisation.
Still using Land Rover axles suspension and prop shafts. Chassis, body and transmission are new.
I have to get to website to see what other details they are releasing but the wheelbase is longer than a 110

that needs a big V8 diesel. that would probably outsell the electric ones.

The range/price doesn’t quite hit the sweet spot for me. 270km mixed driving range is just too tight for a longer drives, especially at a 70K pound price. In tough winter conditions that will be substantially less, I fear. But as a vehicle for around a farm, this could be excellent.

This is pretty close to what I would want, though. There aren’t any real utility EVs available in Europe, and few anywhere else.

Although I am not adverse to the concept, I think that is a fairly tragic looking vehicle! Whistle

Styling looks like someone just scaled up a Lego model and used the only sized wheels they had! 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

I actually kind of like it, in an "ugly but means business" kind of way. It's a lot better than the previous prototypes they showed. I'm still a bit bothered by the super high wheel arches, but I could live with that if it did the things I needed it to do, at the right price.

(Btw we should have a whole forum section for other Defender alternatives than just the INEOS job. 'Off topic' kind of gets lost under everything else.)

Remember one of the reasons Land Rover gave for putting the "old" Defenderout to pasture was the non pedestrian friendly boxy shape? This is more blunt at the front than the old Defender. Laughing 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
