1997 Defender 110 200 Tdi HT Caledonian Blue

defender 110 hardtop outer rear panels

Hi everyone, this is my first question on any forum ever, but seems to be a wealth of knowledge out there so here goes,
I ordered my perfect 110 hardtop back in the end of October, since then i have had to rebuild and upgrade to the X dynamic HSE to get the D300 engine i wanted. However it also comes with features i dont want, namely the gloss black outer side trims as i wanted to add the extended wheel arches and these are matt, no issue really as i can change or get painted one or the other to match.
Bigger issue is the rear outer panels and rear upper corner pillar covers which now only come body coloured on this 110 hardtop configuration. I have ordered a grey defender and i wanted the panels black like the glass not grey. I can see the rear corner cover can come off what about the large rear outer panel, Does this come off also so it can changed or painted?
Any info will be much appreciated as i really dont want a grey panel.
