had a similar problem in my sons 300tdi it was a weak fuel lift pump. they are cheap and easy to replace. BM52

my memory is hazy but i think it was my old 300 which had a split in the head gasket that caused intermitant power loss.

Without any unusual smoking, I'd vote for the lift pump too. Darren

i would go down the road of cleaning out the intercooler and intake manafold as this is one thing that can and will strangle the power of a tdi

Are all the IC hoses connected correctly, If you have a boost leak this will cause a lack of power too, with no obvious side effects You cant polish a turd!
