From the pictures it looks like they have the appropriate marks on them. However, if the beam pattern is off, it's still a failure.

Beat me to it...

While the E mark may be present, and the price may be very good, in my opinion the beam pattern looks really poor, more spot light than low even light dispersion.

Have a look at this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9erKnbHQK0
and this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekMpdKfLlMQ

I know they are very US centric, and want to sell you something, but the advice and testing is applicable.

So I did fit buy and fit these off ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302401056646?mk...8ba71924e3

And as it turns out they failed the mot and the supplier is ignoring messages, no surprise! Put it dow to experience …

Moving on I want to buy and fit sone led headlights with DRL that are cost effective, has anyone bought some for less than £100.00 and passed an mot and don’t interfere with the radio?

Cheers in advance

Sorry to hear about your bad brush with Ebay, and I know you want an answer for less than £200 all in, however may I suggest :

https://ore4x4.co.uk/shop/ltprtz/headlight...eadlights/

Yes, they are twice the price you really want, but:

LTPRTZ unis are correctly marked and MOT valid, and have a DRL plus normal and high beam

"all LTPRTZ units have a 3 year warranty as standard" - quite from chrismack85 Chris who runs ORE and is on this forum.

ORE service is excellent even if you don't have a problem, if there are issues they are very proactive to fix things to make the customer happy from personal expirence. Thumbs Up

hope this helps..... Zaid-M

These were bought for me by someone special as a gift for less than £200 I recall. I wouldn’t have necessarily chosen them myself as I wanted a ‘proper’ pair. Obviously I had to fit them to avoid any earache…

Far better than the original gaslights (not difficult) they’ve been reliable so far (jinxed…) and have passed 4 or 5 MOT’s. Don’t think they interfere with my ‘wireless.’ Wouldn’t like to stake my house on their legality.

I tend to keep boxes and receipts so could find out more if necessary.

at the price you want to pay i dont think you will get anything that will be road legal or pass an mot.

i can vouch for the allmakes ones and the bearmach ones but they are above your budget.

there is a difference between them and noldens or jw speakers but they are a higher priced light .

Will do.

Just searched through my receipts folder and was disappointed that there’s nothing in there. I’ve let myself down…

I replaced the mounting bezels at the same time with s/s and found that receipt.

I’ll have a rummage through the boxes in the garage to see if I can shed any light (boom boom) Whistle

No-one would argue that we should always strive to achieve best value, but you do also (in my case) have to think about affordability.

When I was contemplating buying my Defender, my wallet couldn’t match my aspiration. I had to buy what I could afford, not necessarily what I wanted, or what would represent best value.

Affordability is subjective and relevant at a point in time. If I’d have had the pennies I’d have bought the more reputable brand of LED headlamp.

My father used to say if you buy cheap you buy twice. Alas I can often only buy cheap…👍

My wife on the other hand…

Just to put a different perspective on this, buying a decent set does lock value in, meaning if you had to raise funds at a later date they should have a strong recoverable value.

Simply it can be an investment… Thumbs Up Ride like you stole it!!
