TD5 dashboard gauges and indicators not working
I have a 110 TD5, 2001 which has suddenly lost its dashboard gauges and indicators !

Had the car 10+ years and not seen this one before. Have checked all fuses in front of gear lever and under the seat plus checked the ECU plugs (black and red ones). There was signs of oil on the inside of the red clip/block connector.

I have read a few other blogs but nothing has directly help find the problem.

It could be the flasher unit as hazards work but indicators don’t - but why would the dashboard gauges stop working ?

Do I need to start checking all the relays ? How best to do that ? Except buying new ones ?

Any ideas ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mike

I'd be investigating earthing issues if the whole instrument pack has ceased to work.

Hi Penfold,
Many thanks for your help - I checked earthing points beneath seat, behind cooling expansion tank on buulkhead but no luck there.
I gave up and took the car upto my local garage who found the fault in the hazard warning switch - supposedly. At least no charge either.
Have ordered new hazard warning switch for £6.00 and will fit this weekend.
Will let you know how I get on.
Mike
