Thanks for the reply. Removes that option then!
My 110 is a later TD5; wondering if it is possible to source the earlier frame from 300/early Td5 and whether it’s an easy fit…

The earlier seats on my TD5 have 3 or 4 brackets bolted to the seat base uprights and then the sliding catches on the door side. Can take pics if of any use? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Hi Excossack,

Sorry for slow reply as been away.
A photo could be really helpful, when you have time.
My next question to explore is whether a single earlier 300/Td5 seat frame that would take a high back classic seat can be sourced and with a small amount of modification fit the later Td5 fixings? Though somehow I doubt it.
With thanks,

Rob

I am slightly confused about the factory rear seat options on the Td5, and keep looking for alternatives primarily because I really think there should be a headrest.

I have a 2003 and earlier a 1999 110 and both have the 2/3-1/3 split seat option. The mounting however is a little different than shown by excossack with 3 brackets in total. Both 1999 and 2003 are exactly the same.

I have been looking at something similar to you Texasrover, I have small children about to grow out of the high back child seats so I have been looking at these. https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/ext350-t...-trim.html

Two outer high back and the lowback in the center.

I have a 1999 td5 110 with the same seat frame as yours photographed, on the 60/40 split, I'm just not sure how/if they fit.
