Diff lock - TC question
OK the 110 I have has both center diff lock & traction control.
Do the two work together?
When I engage diff lock what happens to the TC?
Does it still work if so what effect is the diff lock having?
May be obvious to others but I'm 'confused'!!!

Yes, they will work together. When the diff-lock is engaged, the TC works exactly as before except it won't be called on as frequently and so doesn't have to work so hard. Darren

Landrover anorak is completely correct. I will try to explain it a little more by an example.

If you want to drive up a steep hill and somewhere is a hole where you get in with one off the front wheels to following will happen:

With only TC: the front wheel that runs into the hole will starts spinning. TC will use the brakes to slow that wheel down so power is diverted to the other 3 wheels.

With TC and Diff lock: The front wheel that gets into the hole only starts spinning if the rear wheels don't have enough traction as the rear wheels will get 50% off the power. If the front wheel starts spinning the TC cuts also in to slow the front wheel down but it just need a little brake force so the power will also go to the other front wheel.

All power that TC takes away while using the brakes is lost power and has to be delivered by the engine. Roel
