Triple roof bars?
Has anyone put three roof bars onto their Defender roof rails? Possible? Does it produce a flat surface?

Cant speak for the new Defender but on other models the roof rails has a hole on the inside that mates with a lug on the cross rail.

So that only means the standard two will fit.

I guess if you added a centre rail and dremel-ed off the lug that may work and because the load is held in place by the front and rear cross rails it should not move.......in theory.

Alternatively you will have to get a full rack.

Hope that helps

Just to add another thought. my wife has a Velar and the width of the cross bars are slightly different front and back, so not sure if a 'middle' bar would even fit. How that is on the ND someone else will have to answer

Thanks. I’ll have a close look. Two rails might work anyway. I want something I can remove easily when I don’t need to use it.

There are no lugs like on the (e.g.) Discovery Sport's cross bars but the ND bars locate in specific recesses in the roof rails. Also, the bars are marked front and rear so not sure whether a middle one would fit.

If it helps, the installation instructions are here: http://accessories-instructions.landrover....r/G2409809 Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

Sounds like my idea isn’t going to work. Thanks for the advice all.

I fitted a pair of Thule WingBar Edge Black 9595B with Rapid Fitting Kit 183040 on mine as it doesn't use the holes in the rail to locate the rails. I wanted to move them wherever I wanted so the rear one is just in front of the shark-fin thing to protect it against branches. The rails in this kit are adjustable so you can put them anywhere along the length of the roof and I can't see any reason why you couldn't fit three - or even four. The kit is very neat with no protruding rails out the side. it's also all black so looks good. I'm very happy with it.

I have the Thule 753 feet, Wingbar Evo 7113b (black), and 3040 fitting kit.

You can slide the feet to mount the bars anywhere you want. Got pics on my IG if you want to have a look. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

There is a thread on roof bars. There quite some options are given and discussed. One make discussed is available as a two bar kit as well as a three bar kit. Can't remember which make, sorry.

Got myself a used set of Thule bars and feet for Jeep Cherokee (?), same part numbers for feet as Defender and slidly wider crossbars.
