Question for those who've had bonnets / doors stolen
Hi guys, if you've had a bonnet or door stolen, could you tell me whether it was on a newer vehicle (surely it must have been as older doors would be a royal pain to remove without tools?) and whether they were able to unscrew them, or did they drill them out? In the words of baldrick, I have a cunning plan me lord, dependant on your answers. Very Happy Editor of FunRover - One blog. Read it!

Bonnets usually on post 2007.

Doors and every thing else on any age truck if they look ok.

They take all the bits by unbolting them, except the obvious lift off approach with the bonnet.

Thanks Paul, I figured these would be targeted as body panels are likely to be better and bolts will probably remove easier, anyone else had them stolen on an older vehicle? Editor of FunRover - One blog. Read it!

Bonnets post 07, because of the "Power Bulge" are wanted and easily removed normally by Lift approach. This could be foiled simply by the fitting of some form of " Bumper Stop" that prevents the said item being opened to the vertical position i.e.: something " tasteful" that is fitted to the windscreen edge of the bonnet and fouls up against the windscreen surround preventing the bonnet going vertical. Then the ***** would have to undo the bolts which could be changed for security fittings.
A bicycle chain can be used BUT look how many bikes are nicked whilst chained up. These people come prepared so you have to do something unexpected to stop them. Twisted Evil LANDYWATCH
