Steering box adjustment.
How the hell do you get to it with aircon? Is it a t30 torx for the middle as mine is full of schmoo from the tiny amount I can see of it.

My 1990 200tdi Adwest box is a T30 with a 19mm locknut.

Never adjusted on a tdci, but I thought there is an access hole in the lower engine fan cowling. Would still need to fit a spanner to crack the locknut which I think is easier to do from below (so could be a 2 man job). 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

I can confirm that on a tdci with aircon that everything will get in the way and it's 19mm and a t30.

There is a hole in the fan shroud but only so one of the bolts on the steering box doesn't rub through.

Also the locknut will be seized to the shaft and the t30 portion is about 2mm and made of cheese.

Anyhow all adjusted up now though I fear next time will be a new steering box as the shaft is knackered.
