Mine is showing 37mpg on the dash display after the first 700 miles, so hopefully that will creep up when the weather gets better and the engine loosens up a bit (its a D250 Defender 90).

Thought I would do an update since it's been over a year

Fuel consumption has improved.
Top table is over the lifetime of the car, bottom table is the last 30 trips.

I am on the motorway a lot, and generally not too heavy with the loud pedal.
On the pivi pro I am either >98% efficiency or on the off day ~50% Laughing
In winter I am up and down the ski mountains a lot with a roof box

Considering I am a family of 5, and this is a (literally) heavy specced car with 7 seats and pan roof I'm happy with the numbers.
I typically get 1,050km (~650miles) on a tank but I go till empty. YMWV

Yes mine has improved as well, l am now getting around 28mpg on local journeys.

The dashboard average MPG reading is very accurate on mine, from my calculations it's within 1mpg.

Mine has now improved after the first 1,000 miles and I'm seeing 41- 42mpg now for medium length journeys. Now sold: 2023 Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE (Eiger Grey).

And now 44mpg for a couple of evening 50 plus mile journeys this past week. Has anyone got 50mpg in warm weather? Now sold: 2023 Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE (Eiger Grey).

l don't know if you could get 50mpg

You might get close if you sat at 55mph on a flat motorway. But you'd probably fall asleep and crash

D250 fuel economy
With your use scenario lightning, I'm suprised that the P400e is not top of your list, probably fill up with petrol about twice a year Smile

Here’s what my D250 90 is getting over the 2220 miles it’s done - most of these tanks have at least one day in low box off-road included and the last two are including it’s first haul (250 miles each way) from Stirling to Harrogate via M74/M6/A66/A1M with some very fast bits and on the way south a lot of stop/start crawling on the A66 between Penrith and Scotch Corner on the non dual carriageway bits

Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
