Im pretty certain the city centre emission zones are going to be a constantly moving goal posts, i don’t think eu6 will survive it for long without being hybrids. I have no proof of this but i suspect the Green movement will be constantly making cities a no go for cars.

As Lord-haggis says, no one knows, but the rules and regulations on every ICE vehicle will only get more onerous as time goes by.

I can’t imagine why anyone would pay a shed load of money for a vehicle with a Diesel engine knowing how the world is turning.

It’s a bit like buying shares in a coal mine.

If I were buying now, I'd defo buy diesel - no question. The ban is crazy as it stops all R&D, and the new engines were getting very clean.

The rules in Edinburgh were i an changed drastically from the consultation to the implementation. It’s the same cut off as the ULEZ in terms of emissions but it’s £60 every time for a non complaint vehicle, for instance in London my EU3 TD5 would be £12+congestion, however in Edinburgh it’s £60.

There is IMO no guarantee that there’s going to be any consensus between cities, I’m willing to be that unless you have a hybrid or electric you’re going to find more restrictions soon.
