Council Tax - Valuation Office Agency Appeal
Good morning, have any of you had experience of appealing the VOA decisions? My mother’s house has been moved up 2 bands to G (the second highest band). It had been extended by previous owner, but not enough to bring it into G band.

Thanks in advance 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Yes I appealed the G band allocated to our property. My argument was that it was a newly converted semi detached barn and there was nothing to compare it with in the area, the only hard evidence to value was the amount we paid for it. When these valuations came about it was a matter of a valuer driving down a street and allocating the same rate to each similar house. This criteria could not be applied in my case.

The other half of the semi was slightly different but they did not appeal and are still in Band G.

Our house was rated in Band F after appeal. Jeff

Thanks Jeffersj

I’ll take the same tack, nearest equivalent houses on street are F band. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper
