90 side step fitting - where does this hang from/mount to?
Hi folks,

Car I'm working on at the moment (1998 300Tdi 90) had these steps. They were removed and galved during the strip-down and now we're getting close to re-fitting them. I either don't have, or can't find the pics I took when they were removed.

It ought to be bleeding obvious, and I think it is at the front. I think this is the O/S, driver's side, and that the end nearest the camera mounts onto the bulkhead/chassis bolt (I can't see any other way to get it to fit).

But the question is where does the rearmost end go? I think it should be where the rear tub mounts to the outrigger, but the alignment isn't amazing. Perhaps it would look better if the front end was properly fitted, but just holding it in position I'm not 100% convinced. Alternatively, maybe I've got the wrong end of the step completely!

Any advice or (even better) some pictures?

Thanks! Donald

See these fitting instructions https://www.lrworkshop.com/parts/STC8438AA Different side step but the mounting is the same.

Excellent, thanks! Thumbs Up I'm clearly a long-term 110 owner struggling with a 90! That link really helps to get my head round this. It's interesting, I use LRW quite a lot, but I hadn't realised there was useful information to be had if I scrolled that far down.

It looks like we're now missing some of the fittings - the packing pieces for the hole in the rear outriggers, but I'm sure we'll be able to make something up. Donald

No problem at all. I only found that LRW had original instructions a few weeks ago when I got that bull bar. Very handy resource.
