Hello all.
Could anyone tell me the depth of the TD5 tank (90) from the sender mount? Going to be using an aftermarket sender and pump. I want to use a WEMA Sender and I've got options of 225mm - 400mm. ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Pic cuz' why not 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

Hey LJ I'm the one doing a 3uz-fe swap at the moment and I've sort of copied defendermatt's idea. Take out existing sender and put a pump directly into the swirlpot, I used the donor lexus's pump. I can take a photo if you like but see Matts build thread and mine is pretty much the same. I used cable ties instead of machining a bracket

hi Timbo, I'm following both yourself and Matts builds at the minute.
I want to go this route so I can use some aftermarket gauges and also to give me a reason to machine some more nice parts for the car. so I was aiming to get the depth of the tank from the ring before I start stripping, because I haven't got my hands on a donor yet. ![]() My Instagram |

Mines a 110 but I can measure it tomorrow for you, I assume they'll be the same. Having said that the sender gauge I took out is spring loaded so compresses as you put it in to confuse matters

That would great Tim, thanks. Don't worry about it really. The fuel senders have a "useable" reading or something along those lines anyway…
or I'm getting it confused with the tanks "useable amount" in terms of its capacity. ![]() and yeah I've actually already done a couple of fixes around the tank already, one being the filler neck... ![]() I'll be making a thread of where I'm at with the build soon(ish) so we can bounce ideas off each other ![]() My Instagram |

I see you're making some progress
![]() Thanks for the info Tim - thats close enough for a fuel sender I think ![]() heard the japs engineering uses a lot of fine threads? gotta say thats a funky looking flywheel ![]() Also, what are you doing interms of electrical? I'm going to be getting a standalone loom and then send my ECU away etc. 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

I was going to use Pheonix engine management. They have a facebook page. A guy off this forum I made contact with looked at their page and wasn't impressed with their MO so now I'm not sure. They wanted the loom off donor engine and would rewire with new cable, delete immobilser, remap engine and delete auto box. This is a stumbling block for me at the moment as mobile electricians seem hard to find
![]() I'll burn that bridge when I come to it, which will be soon, in the mean time I'll be connecting gearbox tomorrow and if I get time offering it all up to vehicle. I also need to figure a way to make gear lever work. ![]() All the best buddy |

I've heard otherwise about Pheonix and know of someone who is going to be using his products soon on a built 3UZ that'll be running big power.
I also got intouch with the guy and he's extremely helpful. I'm going to be going to him for my loom as he seems more than okay in supporting his customers - he even provides videos demonstrating the looms he builds for people too. With how long it'll take for my winchester gears products to arrive I'll probably have enough cash to spend on a link ECU too...... Fingers crossed. which means BOOST! ![]() My Instagram |

I got a quote from them with a link to video and the quote was very thorough in it's breakdown. I've no problem with price and was all set to go ahead but for some complicated reasons I wanted to speak to the guy personally and phoned, no reply so left a message, no call back. If you've heard good things that's good. I'm happy to give them a go if they can do what's required. I only offered someone elses opinion, who seems to know what's what regarding electrics about which I know nothing
