I think the only thing which could be an issue with a missing bumper would be if the tester considered that the exposed chassis legs presented a dangerous protrusion which was hazardous to other road users. This would be rather subjective and I think that an advisory would be more likely than a fail.

The bumper is not structural and there is no legal requirement for one to be fitted.

It is a stunning vehicle, and it is getting better with every post! Thumbs Up

A horrible task today removing sprayed on underseal from the bonnet. Thankfully this was made easier using the stale petrol that I tipped out of the tank when replacing the fuel pump.

FYI only, when I was restoring my bonnet, I removed the frame from the skin for a proper re gluing job, as the glue had failed, and the bonnet vibrations was really irritating me (perhaps you will notice that on your beautiful VCool. But what I found was horrible... there was practically no paint on the skin side of the frame and loads of surface rust Shocked From underneath, everything was looking perfect as my TD used to spray oil everywhere Rolling with laughter 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Bonnet buffers had totally disintegrated so at great expense I ordered new together with new door card clips.
