I’d go for the Wolfs but with 255/85/16 on. 265’s are a touch too wide and 235 a touch to thin imho and a 255 is a nice compromise which is also larger diameter, raises the ground clearance, corrects the Speedo, improves mpg due to slightly higher gearing and looks fierce 2017 Range Rover L405 Vogue SE V8 Diesel #16

I’ve had 265’s on various alloys and 255s on wolfs but find that Defenders just drive better on 235/85’s

Size 255 would be difficult in my country because it doesn’t appear legally in my car papers. That’s why I have the focus in the 265’s with Nakatanenga and 235’s with Wolf. It is my first defender, I have no experience with these cars. I bought it two days ago, right now I have 235 / 85r16, the drive is very good with them. That is why I wanted to know if the 265/75 r16 tire provided any improvement for driving on road. Great to know from Oldowner, that has experience with both sizes, that the best decision is to stick with 235, then there is no discussion with the rims because the Nakatanengan does not admit that tire size and from what I have read in this forum 265 in a Wolf is not the most appropriate. How does the 265 behave on the road? Is the turning angle reduced with them compared to the 235 ? By the way, the green of your car is Keswick Green? Mine is Santorini Black, very nice but I love green Defenders. I am considering painting it, if I did there are two greens that I particularly like: the Bronze Green and the Keswick green. Thanks  |

No photos but i have the 265 75 16 BFGs on et0 Wolf Replicas, i think it’sa brilliant combination, i had 235 85 16 on et0 modulars before, I’ve not noticed any changes in handling, its normally used driving between farms but I’ve been away on the islands and it’s handling the single tracks with joyus ease.

Mine’s a 4.6 v8 and gets driven hard, tyres are fine on the road, i fit them to all 90’s and 110’s I own. 235’s are fine for muddy conditions, but struggle been pushed hard on the road ( i used to have MTR’s though)… not what every one wants a Land Rover for, but mine gets used for everything, including Scatter Rally events! As James has above, i’ve also had standard Wolf wheels and Wolf et0’s and they are a very nicely finished wheel… it makes the Naka quality look very poor… worse so for the price premium on the Naka… but the Naka is a nicer looking wheel imo. Yes, Keswick

Thank you all for your advices and the fantastic pictures of your lovelies Defender. I have read in this forum that the studs are a little short for the Wolf wheels my question is if are they also short for the Naka’s? Thanks! |

The studs are not a little short for Wolf wheels - they came like that from the factory on both civil and military models and are absolutely fine. Darren
