Reading this thread, I’m so glad and lucky I didn’t have this issue when taking mine off.

Only thing I did notice, was I followed the guide from Martin K on here, it says the tightening torque is 25NM.
I had just been looking through the WSM and that says 35NM, there is if I remember an arrow on the housing that points to the drain plug. *if I remember rightly*.

Obviously as found here, it’s important it doesn’t get overtightened.
In future when I go to do it again, I’ll get a spare housing just in case I think.

Another tool that might take these off is a rubber boa tool, though it would need to be oil free so it doesn’t slip and there might be very limited room…

I’m leaning towards just leaving the housing alone now, now that I’ve tightened it to 25NM.
But the WSM does state 35NM, unless it’s a WSM error?
To be honest 25NM did feel about right anyway. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
