Is it possible to fit the rear mirror with clearview?
As I missed to put the rear mirror with clearview function on my Defender order (had it first but apparently the dealer missed it on the final order)
Is it possible to have it installed now?
If yes how much does it cost and is it easy or a complete butchery?
Or is it just replacing the mirror and updating the software?

Don't know whether it can be done or not but you will also need a new shark fin aerial on the roof as that is where the clearview camera is installed Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

I thought the shark fin had already a camera for the funny 3D view? I haven‘t checked yet. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

I have the same problem. I had such a mirror with a clear view to have because I ordered the car as a model MY21. Unfortunately, during production they changed the model year to MY22 where the mirror is no longer in standard equipment. No one informed me. I'm dealing with my seller.

I checked my order again. The Clearview mirror is checked as standard option.

So probably they changed it but without telling me.

I have to check with my dealer on Monday, 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

For 21 X-Dynamic HSE it was a "Standard" option. When the product managers at JLR optioned the MY22's they turned it into a Option ($450 USD). Unfortunately it was very poorly communicated, executed or even understood and most of the orders in the flow got dropped. I could insert all sort's of profane terms about how messed up it has been to so many customers.

Precisely defined. I was at the dealership yesterday. He'll order a mirror and a rear fin with a camera and we'll do some retrofitting. Hopefully this will be done successfully.

I have the same problem. I have spoke to a company who can retrofit it but it’s a bit pricey. They quoted me £1800 for parts plus labour and activation so it worked out well over 2k. 3.0L MHVE D200 S Pangea Green+Black Pack

You might be able to get all the bits from a vehicle scrappy now that there’s been a few write-offs.
The new Honda E has a similar electric review mirror cam, might be less pricey from a Honda dealer…… but you’ll need a longer cable. I’ve also seen an after market system I think on Amazon. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Today my seller called me telling me my Def MY21 is a MY22 model, the clearview mirror/cam is an 700€ option now.
When I asked if it is possible to exchange it?

1) No
2) to complicated
3) parts not available
4) apparently it has technical problems as not being reliable Shocked

So I leave as it is. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

To be honest is it really worth the hassle? For me no, I tried it on a dealers car and didn’t like it. Handy on a hard top model though. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

That's unfortunate information. But I understand that you stay as you are. The problems in production are likely to be great.

I wonder what price they'll announce me. I'm still waiting. 2000 pounds is really expensive, ufff. ...
