Output shaft question
Learned ones
Just a quick one, I'm swapping the output shaft for a LOF one price job and I've noticed that the female bit has 2 splines missing at 12 and 6 o'clock. is this a thing or was the shaft on it's way out? (I have stated that it was a ticking time bomb in order to push the new shaft purchase through the fiscal review process)
Thanks

Doesn’t the Ashcroft modified version have 2 splines removed from the female piece to let oil through from the gearbox?

Ignore the above, different splines to the ones being discussed here I think.. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I did the same thing and SWMBO has asked twice now, "but does it drive better"...
