Grenadier Tyre Size
I have seen from a photo of the car at Goodwood that the tyre size is 285/70/17. That’s a full inch taller than our beloved classics 238/85/16 and allows the same amount of sidewall height despite the bigger rim. It gives you an idea of how big the grenadier is in the flesh as it manages to look a bit under-tyred even on that size. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The Grenadier tires 265/70R17 and 255/70R18 are both 32" diameters tires. Someone (not me, my experience with an FJ Cruiser and 32" tires was satisfactory) will want to lift the vehicle and ask whether 35" tires will fit. (This question is a tradition knock on the FJ Forum). Anyway, my comment is about the placement of the spare tire on the large rear door of the vehicle. Appearance questions whether the narrow rear door could be opened with a larger tire. If Grenadier is looking to accommodate after market innovation, then should the design of the spare be moved 1.5" to the right, so the narrow door can still be opened?

The spare tyre position is probably not a big deal. Even if a monster 35” fouls the small door, I’m sure the aftermarket will come with an alternative mount. Discovery 1 and 2 had tyre size limitations on the rear door and there are a number of solutions available. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
