It must be true, the ultimate Land Rover Series 1 80
It must be true, the advertisement says that this is "known to be the ultimate Land Rover Series 1 80 inch 1600cc Petrol basic must have", although I am not sure how this is known, nor by whom, but that is what the advertisement says.

How many things can you spot that are wrong with it?

There are so many uninformed people, shysters and and miscreants flogging Series Ones these days it must be really difficult not to get fleeced if you are a sincere but not-terribly-knowledgeable first-time buyer.

I know very little about Series I's, but I do have a pet hate about not being able to fasten the rear flap correctly. Big Cry

Yup, that really winds me up too!

Other clearly visible things that are wrong:

It has 1952/3 MY spot welded front wings with sidelights
It has no sidelights in the bulkhead
It has the canvas flaps for the door handles fitted to the wrong side of the door (the diagonal edge should be inside the panel)
It should actually have external door handles, not internal ones.

Certainly shouldn’t have side exit exhaust

That's true, exhaust should exit behind the RNS wheel.

Additionally the headlamp bezels should be body-colour not chrome, and it shouldn't have wing mirrors (just one mirror on the driver's side screen frame).

But despite all this, apparently it's the ultimate Land Rover Series 1 80 and is worth in excess of £32k! Rolling with laughter

I don’t really like pulling a vehicle to pieces but when they are described as in the advert as such it does warrant comment.
I’m sure there are even more anomalies than the pictures show however a few more are,
As Blackwolf mentioned the wings are later but even then they are the wrong side lights. The centre of the steering wheel is a later type and also has the later horn button. Later type windscreen wipers. Expensive for a vehicle described in such a way.
